I had my camera pointed at the feeders across the deck when this young male visited the hummingbird mint agastache three feet from me. I was able to get a few shots. Besides being dreamy looking, the mint is also nice because it lasts through Fall until the first freeze and came back beautifully from last years planting.
The bud of the flower is about an inch long so his nose basically fits in there. It’s a young male as we can see from the tapered sixth wing, annotated in the 3rd shot. Also the young males have white tips in some of their tail feathers.
